Clean Bandit seem to have won every award going with their fusion of pop with classically-derived chord progressions. So, it seemed fitting that they should play a gig with a full orchestra. I worked as the assistant arranger on this project with the BBC Philharmonic, helping Joe Duddell by transcribing a bunch of the band's songs and getting the rough structure of orchestrations together. As with all these gigs, there was a super tight deadline with the performance live on TV and radio on the Friday and us only being able to start on the songs in the middle of the week. Everything worked out pretty well, though, and the band liked it enough to include on their next release! Here's their biggest hit...
